Our Inspiration

Saint Josemaria Escriva

God waits for us every day in the immense panorama of work. Understand this well: there is something holy, something divine, hidden in the most ordinary situations and it is up to each one of you to discover it.

Either we learn to find our Lord in ordinary, everyday life, or else we will never find him.

Saint Josemaria Escriva, Founder of Opus Dei
Passionately Loving the World

    • Our adult children have told us more than once, that they still practice their faith because of the answers we gave them when they were questioning their faith as adolescents. My wife and I would never have been able to answer effectively without the formation we’ve received over the years through Opus Dei.

—John, a father of seven grown children

    • Opus Dei activities help recharge my batteries. I’m encouraged to enlarge my heart and give the gift of self. I’m certain this helps me be a better wife and mother.

—Frances, a young mother of seven children

    • Opus Dei activities helped my daughter a lot while she was growing up. I think the formation, friendships and advice she received through her adolescence and young adulthood, are the main reasons she is strong in her faith and happily married today.

—Kathleen, a mother of 7 and grandmother of 3

    • During my later teenage years, I was searching and lukewarm in my faith. The genuine friendship and solid formation I received at the Centre enabled me to reencounter Christ and grow in my relationship with Him. The message of Opus Dei has taught me to direct all my actions and ordinary duties towards a Father who truly loves me as His son.

—Jonathan, a 3rd year medical student

    • I love attending Opus Dei activities because they add to the way I see the world. They give me a better grasp of the beauty and truth of real life and help me become better at being myself.

—Rachel, a 17 year old high school student

    • I felt so at home on my first retreat at the Manoir. I learned that the staff prayed for me as they cleaned my room and served my meals and their warmth and joy were so inspiring. I wanted to try to do the same at home with my own family.

—Maria, a mother of six young children

    • I was invited by a friend to go on an Opus Dei retreat and it changed my life. I’m much more serene now in situations that used to ruffle me. It makes me joyful to see how much happier this has made my family.

—Denise, a young mother of 2
