The Conference Centre
Copper Ridge serves as a venue for retreats, seminars and workshops. The building covers 36,000 square feet on a 40 acres property, surrounded by the rustic beauty of the Britannia range and Howe Sound. In addition, the conference centre provides education, jobs and professional training.
History of the Area
In 1859 Captain G.H. Richards dubbed the mountains on the eastern shore of Howe Sound the Britannia Range in honour of the Royal Navy’s HMS Britannia. In 1888 copper was discovered in the mountains. In 1900 a mine was established and the town of Britannia Beach was founded to provide shelter to this hard working community.
Activities
All year round, the conference centre holds a wide variety of events, including retreats, seminars, workshops, and courses. The activities held at the conference centre provide participants with spiritual and cultural enrichment, preparing them to become a force for the betterment of society in their professional, family and social contexts.
Our Inspiration
God waits for us every day in the immense panorama of work. Understand this well: there is something holy, something divine, hidden in the most ordinary situations and it is up to each one of you to discover it.
Either we learn to find our Lord in ordinary, everyday life, or else we will never find him.
