“Make Room at the Ridge” Campaign

In the “Secure the Future” fundraising campaign, there are several different initiatives to raise the money needed to pay down the CRCC mortgage. “Make Room at the Ridge” is one in which we are seeking sponsors for the 27 ensuite bedrooms at CRCC. The sponsorship can be made in honour of someone (like a grandchild) or in memory of someone (such as parents or a spouse). In March, for example, a couple sponsored “Mount Sedgewick” in memory of their parents who they characterized as their “fountains of love.” Dedications will be recorded in a “Donor Recognition Edition” of our CRCC photo book which is kept in the front room of the centre.

CRCC has become a reality due to the generosity of countless people. One may ask, why give what we have to others? The answer is simple — to identify ourselves more with Jesus Christ on the cross. During Holy Week, we were witnesses to Christ‘s unparalleled sacrifices for us, and we were reminded that we are called to be the face of God to those who surround us. Pope Francis described the Church as a field hospital. CRCC offers a very peaceful and restorative space for those seeking spiritual help and love in the midst of life’s battles.

Sponsorship of one of the rooms at CRCC could be paid over a three-year tax period. We may think of it as our Lenten AND Advent almsgiving. Thus far, we have 20 rooms that have been spoken for by donors, and 7 remain.
