That woman in the house of Simon the leper in Bethany, who anoints the Master’s head with precious ointment, reminds us of our duty to be generous in the worship of God. All beauty, richness and majesty seem little to me.
And against those who attack the richness of sacred vessels, of vestments and altars, stands the praise given by Jesus: “opus enim bonum operata est in me” — “she has acted well towards me.” The Way 527
Copper Ridge Conference Centre is now designing and equipping the most important room in the building. This space will be exquisite in design and décor; its fundamental elements will convey an elegant simplicity. All the focus will be on one sacred place: the tabernacle.

The Oratory will be a place to spend intimate time with Our Lord, to reflect on one’s life, its joys and challenges, and to come away with strong resolutions for the future. Our prayer will deepen as we gaze upon the reredos of the crucifixion and meditate on the life of the Holy Family depicted in the stained glass windows. The Oratory is the room where the fires of our sacrificial love will be nourished.
All of us are invited to participate in building, furnishing and decorating these unique spaces. The facility will have two oratories, a large one in the main building and another in the staff area. Here is an opportunity to express our personal sentiments of affection and tenderness towards Our Lord because we want to give the very best we have to Him.
We are presenting to the friends of Copper Ridge two categories of contributions:
- The major building elements (or any part of them) such as the altar, stained glass windows, reredos, pews, or flooring.
- The liturgical items such as the tabernacle, sacred vessels, monstrance, altar linens, vestments, wooden cross, seal of Opus Dei, lecterns, missals, lectionaries, reliquaries, stations of the cross, etc.
